A company is a separate legal entity which is formed to facilitate the carrying on of business or to hold property or other assets. The vast majority of limited companies used in business are private limited companies.
Some entrepreneurs decide to trade without the protection of a limited liability company. In such cases, where the individual decides to trade under a name not being his/her surname, accompanied if he/she so wishes, by the first name(s) or the relevant initials(s), he is obliged to register with the Registrar of Business Names.  Most trading partnerships consist of between two and twenty individuals none of whose liability is limited. However, a limited liability company may become a partner, provided that there is at least one individual in the partnership who, of course, would be responsible for all unpaid debts of the firm.
